Day 81

I registered for the GRE today, that means I'm committing myself to studying for the next month and a half. Good thing I bought these books a year ago! Unfortunately, I'm also feeling kind of sick today, so I got some sunflowers to cheer up the apartment.

Day 80

Went to watch the new Woody Allen movie, Midnight in Paris. It was packed!

Sunday, May 29, 2011

Day 79

Went for a hike today at Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve. It was a fun hike, wooded forest-y areas and open areas where we could see south to Stanford and the Dumbarton Bridge. It's a dog-friendly space and parts are even off-leash, and only 15 minutes from home!

Saturday, May 28, 2011

Day 78

Went to help out today at the QuestBridge College Admissions Conference at Stanford. Great day, fun to see all the students (just under 400!) and the Quest staff. This was my 7th QB College Admissions Conference!

This is at the end of the day, the college fair with reps from the 30 partner schools. The rest of the day was spent in workshops about financial aid, applying to college, and the National College Match.

Day 77

My last Lick-Wilmerding cafeteria sandwich ever! :-(
Honey ham and salami on dutch crunch bread with provolone, mustard, tomatoes, lettuce and avocado, mmmm.

Thursday, May 26, 2011

Day 76

Finals started today, so funny signs like this were up all over campus. They made me smile throughout the day.

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Day 75

This is me beating Jacob at Wii pool. Jacob's mii is on the right, looking sad because I beat him. I'm jumping up on down with the spotlight on me and confetti falling all over the place. I had 32 points and Jacob had -8. :-)

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

Day 74

Today was the last day of classes at Lick! A little sad. This is one of my favorite places on campus. The business office is up a set of stairs to the left, the cafeteria is down a set of stairs to the right, and the gym is right behind that bench.

Monday, May 23, 2011

Day 73

Went to a Pomona College Glee Club Concert tonight at the Stanford Memorial Church. They were great! The church is beautiful too.

Sunday, May 22, 2011

Day 72

Copper's just waiting for Jacob to come back in from his phone call.

Saturday, May 21, 2011

Day 71

Tonight was the Al Adams Farewell Bash at the Great American Music Hall. After 23 years, Al Adams will be leaving Lick-Wilmerding. His band, The Loose Licks, opened (that's his band in the picture), he plays the washboard and the headliner was Poor Man's Whiskey. Lots of fun, good music, and Al will be missed.

Friday, May 20, 2011

Day 70

Cousin dinner #2! Unfortunately Julia and Ahmad couldn't make it, but still lots of fun and good food!

Thursday, May 19, 2011

Day 69

Surprise party for Nate because he's graduating from grad school tomorrow, we even got a snow cone machine!

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Day 68

I was at the dentist this morning waiting for my appointment (got a wisdom tooth pulled!) and looking at the Daily Post and thought this was a weird combination of news stories.

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

Day 67

Our last day of Aim High after school tutoring. These are some of my regular tutees and tutors!

Monday, May 16, 2011

Day 66

Strive has a team dinner every week, and this week Jacob and I hosted at our place!

Sunday, May 15, 2011

Day 65

Jacob outside of the downtown Redwood City library. It's become kind of habit to come here on Sunday afternoons. Today we picked up some GMAT study guides, some travel writing, and a couple other nonfiction picks. This library used to be the fire department a long time ago!

Saturday, May 14, 2011

Day 64

Revisiting the site of all the flirting that happened about 3 years ago.

Friday, May 13, 2011

Day 63

Valeria and Taylor hanging out with Copper!

Day 62

This is actually yesterday's picture, but blogger was down for most of yesterday (and this morning) so I wasn't able to post yesterday.

When I got on the train yesterday, the car was empty! I've never seen that before, and it was a little weird.

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Day 61

Date night at the Broken Record. It's this great bar that has great food, right near my job. Here's a Hamblogger post on it: http://thehamblogger.com/1059/broken-record-san-francisco-ca/. Jacob had the pulled pork sandwich, I had the brisket sandwich, and we had sweet potatertots on the side -- all delicious.

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

Day 60

These are at my train stop by home, they just appeared over the weekend!

Monday, May 9, 2011

Day 59

Michelle was able to come to L-W to have lunch with me today, she leaves San Francisco on Sunday so I'm glad we got to hang out one more time!

Sunday, May 8, 2011

Day 58

Hanging out in Oakland with Laura. We had some delicious dinner at Burma Superstar and then tea at L'Amyx.

Saturday, May 7, 2011

Day 57

Nice day in San Francisco! Hanging out with a friend at Zeitgeist.

Friday, May 6, 2011

Day 56

Some of the Admissions lunch crew. They found out today that I was leaving after this year, it was sad! "ANOTHER COUNTRY?? You mean like somewhere we can't even drive?!?"

Thursday, May 5, 2011

Day 55

Had dinner with Reena tonight at Coconuts, very tasty. Also, look how pregnant she is, and she still has two months left!

Wednesday, May 4, 2011

Day 54

Beautiful 80+ degree weather today!

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

Day 53

After work walk with Copps. I like coming back here, it's right next to the apartment but feels kind of foresty.

Monday, May 2, 2011

Day 52

Day 53! Can't believe I've made it this far! I added a new button on the right, "Follow by Email!" All you have to do is enter your email address, hit "submit," and then you'll get an email every time I do a post. You won't have to come here, unless you want to post a comment. Just FYI.

This is some student artwork in a hallway at school, these were my 3 favorite and they just happened to be right next to each other.

Sunday, May 1, 2011

Day 51

Jacob's birthday! I made him a corn pie (a variation on this recipe) because corn is his favorite food. He's actually turning 27 but the only candles I could find were the 26 candles from last year so I used those.
