I finally got to meet Jayden! He is adorable, and so calm! He recently started loving jumping in this thing.

Day 109
New baby in the family! Reena's water broke around noon on Monday, and James was born at 1:11am on Tuesday, June 28th. He weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.5 inches long. I'm off to Texas tomorrow, but I'll be back to see him in a week.
While I'm in Texas, I'll get to finally meet the second youngest member of the family -- Jayden, born in January!

Day 108
Today is my last day working at this desk! My last day in the Admissions Office!
I'll miss this desk, most of the kids who hang out regularly in here signed their names in color pencils (except for a few mistakes in sharpie) throughout the year.

Grilling salmon and corn with Karen and Henry! Plus some tasty watermelon, watermelon lemonade and quinoa salad.

Day 106
Hanging out in the old neighborhood with the guys for Isaac's last Saturday in San Francisco!
Yes it's the end of June, yes it's pretty cold in San Francisco.

Day 105
I took this waiting for the train this morning. It always seems like the train going the other way is on time and the train going my way is late.
Plus the sky looked really blue, and for some reason it looked like there were a ton of signs posted on the fence.

Day 104
This cute little park was at the end of the block we lived on in Palo Alto. We were back in the old neighborhood so we stopped by. It was warm and sunny, and these leaves looked so green!
This little park is called Sarah Wallis Park, I was always curious about this, and also why so many things in the neighborhood (Mayfield Bakery & Cafe, Mayfield Soccer Complex, Mayfield Management, Mayfield Mortgage, etc.) have the name Mayfield (which is the name of my high school). Turns out, Mayfield was a township formed in 1855 in the area that is now South Palo Alto. It was eventually annexed by Palo Alto in 1925. Sarah Wallis was a Mayfield pioneer who championed women's rights. She was the leader of the local suffrage movement and became president of California's first suffrage association. In their later years, her and her husband (a state senator and judge) lived on the site of this park in a little cottage.
Cute story.

Day 103
A magnolia tree outside my front door. I love seeing it because I had a huge one in the front yard of my house growing up. My brother and I used to throw the before-flower part like grenades. I know... violent, but we turned out okay, I promise.

Day 102
This new handwritten sign showed up at The Nut House, and we were fooled! We decided we shouldn't take a chance, but then later saw 2 old guys leave through this door without hesitating and nothing happened!

Day 101
If you ever take BART to the San Francisco Airport, you go up this escalator and see this stuff. It's a bunch of silver circles and they hang so that they move in the wind. It looks like moving water or something, a picture can't describe it but it's cool.

Day 98
Just a happy picture tonight. It was Jacob's last day at Strive for College, and Strive's potential for-profit branch was funded today... and I was offered a job at an amazing school in Thailand!

Day 94
This is the ad at the bus stop I've seen every morning coming out of the train station for the last month or so. Someone added something over the weekend, D. Money.
It's an ad for a Hispanic Scholarship Fund campaign that stresses the importance of parental involvement in educational achievement (specifically attending college).
Oh, and a lovely random mattress as well.

Day 89
Just in time for me to start studying for the GRE, and no longer have my commute, this cool new machine! It's at the Millbrae station, which is where riders can switch from Caltrain to BART. Apparently, 1,400,330 people exited through Millbrae in 2010. It's a library machine, you can check out and return books here. I've read every day on my 45-60 minute commute since October, and now that I'm studying for the GRE, I'm not reading anymore, and my commute ends in July. Oh well.

Day 84
Today was Lick's graduation, it was at Davies Symphony Hall, home of the San Francisco Symphony. This is the end of the graduation, if you look closely you can see all the graduation caps being thrown in the air. Up on the big screen is Al Adams, the Head of School. He had just announced them graduates.
The class voted on someone in their class to speak, and lucky for us they chose Nathan Chan. He's a graduating senior, but also an amazing cellist. After his speech, he played for us, and he was great. Here's a video of him, for an idea of what we got to hear.

Day 83
Every Thursday night from May through October, Redwood City has a "Movie on the Square." It's a free outdoor movie where we bring blankets and snacks and watch something. Friday nights are "Music on the Square" and Tuesday nights are "Dancing on the Square." And the square is about a 5-10 minute walk from home! Tonight's movie was Hitch.
