Day 142

This is Copper's guilty face. When we get home and he's been sleeping on the couch, he hops off immediately and then slinks down to the ground like this. It's the cutest thing ever.

Also, we only have him for another week before he leaves for Texas for a year. Saaaaaaaad.

We went to visit James, he's one month old now! James was crying when I was holding him, but when I gave him to Jacob he got quiet, stared at him and squeezed his finger!

Met Laura in the Mission for pupusas and platanos, will be the last time we see each other for who knows how long! Sad.

Also, this is a tile mural at the 16th Street Mission BART station that apparently has been there since 2003 but this is the first time I've noticed it.

I saw this little sliver of blue sky on my walk to the train this morning. No blue sky here in San Francisco, but hopefully when I get back home!

Matt, Jacob's umm-brother, is in town! Copper knows he's being bad jumping on the chair to say hello.

He was nice and quiet just lounging around until we tried to take a picture, then he started crying and wouldn't stop!

Copper was very curious about this little guy on our walk this morning, he kept nosing it. By the time I was ready to take a picture he had moved on to the surrounding dirt. It was cute.

Met Laura downtown and realized this might be my last time in downtown SF for the foreseeable future... and last time seeing Laura too! But we made a date for next week, so it won't be the last time seeing her. :-)

Day 131

Out for dinner celebrating Jacob's being done (and he did great!) on the GMAT. We went to this great place, Martins West. That meat board has braised oxtail, duck liver mousse and smoked rabbit. I liked the braised oxtail and smoked rabbit but the duck liver mousse was a bit much for me. Jacob liked all of them. We shared a Moscow Mule and it came in a cool copper mug. :-)

Day 130

This is the little flower shop in my BART stop at work. I'm pretty sure this is the first time in my 2 years of coming here daily that the door was closed and there weren't flowers set up outside. Flowers are fun and happy and smell nice so it made me sad that this flower shop was for sale. Not sure that makes sense, but it does to me!

A beautiful day in San Francisco. I tend to take pictures in SF when it's a nice day, this is not a normal day up there. This cool hill with all the houses running across it is usually covered in fog. I love when I get to see them!

Collegiate All Americans vs. New Zealand Universities Rugby, at Stanford today. New Zealand won 23-20 but it was a good game, and the All Americans almost came back and scored in the last minute. It was intense! And during that last minute this cute little girl kept trying to say hi to Jacob, and put her hand in his pocket.

JACOB AND I ARE ENGAGED! :-)

Jacob got this beautiful ring from his mother, and it belonged to his grandmother before that. His grandfather gave it to his grandmother for their 25th wedding anniversary.

This is my picture today because we've been seeing a lot of it lately. For most nights over the last month or so we've been watching an episode of Rescue Me on Netflix (we don't have cable or regular tv channels). But lately Netflix has been loading reeeeaally slowly, or not at all. This screen has been very annoying over the past few days.

Also, I took the GRE this morning and I'm so glad it's over!

Quick dinner tonight, and very tasty. Pork loins, mac and cheese and green beans with a french onion soup style sauce. Mmmm.

I liked that this plant on my co-worker's desk had a clear drop of water right in the middle. Long quiet days at work this month, so I notice this kind of excitement!

Copper got a special treat tonight, he got to hang out on the couch because Rob was over hanging out.

Went to visit James today, Rahul is in town this weekend and Ahmad and Reena just got a new grill. We had some excellent grilled chicken, red beans and rice for dinner tonight!

Flew back to San Diego today from Houston, and took this picture while on a walk with Jacob and his mom in Carlsbad. The beach was packed for 4th of July, and this was at around 5pm!

I finally missed a day! A good day to miss though, we had a wonderful day celebrating Avol's 85th birthday and I really just forgot to post, though lots of pictures were taken and I'll post more in a separate album. Here's our family shot with Avol before cutting the cake.

It was also my parent's 29th wedding anniversary, so congratulations to them!

Teamwork! Pops drops off the crab in the bucket while Jacob throws the line back out.

We (me, Jacob and Pops) got up at 6am this morning to go crabbing. It was fun, hot (like 98 degrees by 10am), and we caught around 20 crabs! Now to go eat them...
